Gyatso
is the owner of Blue Tent. He was born in Amdo, East Tibet. From
the age of nine until the age of twenty, he was a monk in Labrang
Monastery in Amdo, Gansu Province. In his twenties he lived in
Lhasa where he worked for Doctors Without Borders (MSF), KunDe
Foundation (of the U.K.), and Namchen Travel Service LTD. He first
came to the United States in an environmental exchange program
sponsored by the U.S. Government. He now lives in Santa Fe and can

He believes that rather than
always asking for donations, it was better to form this small
business. His goal is to support environmental education in Tibet.
He also believes that the environmental issue is not the
responsibility of only a certain kind of group or individual. It is
more the responsibility of every sentient beings, which is why he
choose the Tibetan Ecology
Foundation's motto as "Protecting the planet one
conscience at time"
